Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, 54 years ago, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara on May 23, 1999. He earned a degree in Systematic Philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 2002. He has served as parochial vicar in different parishes in Guadalajara, as well as pastor in the parishes of Sagrado Corazón de Jesus and Providencia Divina in that city. He was also coordinator of youth ministry for the Catholic University of the Valley of Atemajac. He served as a formator at the Sacred Heart Seminary of the Diocese of Baja California Sur from 2010 to 2013. Upon his return to Guadalajara, he served as associate pastor of San Martin de Porres parish and was then appointed in March 2015 to the Archdiocese of Denver with a three-year collaboration agreement. Father Gerardo was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Denver in July 2020 and has served as parochial vicar of St. John the Baptist Parish in Longmont (2015-2017) and as pastor of our community from June 2017 to present. His ordination logo is: "For to me, life is Christ and death is gain" (Phil. 1:21).
